Pen and Ingrid Cayetano made it their mission to educate the youth of Belize in the field of creativity and decided to pass on their knowledge and experience in art, music and culture by hosting workshops at their Studio Gallery. In 2012 they started the youth organization, PCDyouth (Pen Cayetano Dangriga youth) for boys and girls at the age of 9 to 14 years.
The Gallery offers a variety of art prints, postcards and handmade designed arts and crafts by local artisans are available for a beautiful souvenir or present for someone special. Choose one of Mercy Sabal’s beautiful folkloric dolls. She developed an original pattern and individual style emphasizing on her Garifuna heritage. Each doll carries an individual utensil like a grater, machete, bowl or drum.
The wooden colonial house has two lovely bedrooms, a spacious living room, bathroom (warm water) and a full-equipped kitchen in a separated building connected by a porch. Surrounded by towering mango trees, the “Wagunda House” provides a unique organic farm experience within the natural gardens and sounds of the Belizean rainforest.
The Studio Gallery Cayetano offers all kinds of art and music workshops for kids, youth or adults and even school and community programs. Upon request you can participate in the unique and authentic cultural experience of Garifuna drumming sessions which you can book separately or as a group.
