Ingrid Cayetano aka “Ms Ingrid” offers a variety of homemade preservatives like mango jam and sorrel jelly, lemon grass or sage tea. Herbs like oregano, basil and moringa are available complemented by cassava bread and fruit wine. Try some sweet frozen “milky ways” and take home a unique taste of Belize.
Dangriga Map
Guide for the culture capital of Belize
In 2015 the Cayetano family launched their first edition of the Dangriga Culture Map, which is a longtime achievement of the artist couple Ingrid and Pen Cayetano. Ingrid’s visit from Germany to Belize in 1981 had changed her life. She fell in love with her husband Pen, the country, its people and their culture. Dangriga, the culture capital of Belize, is a great spot to spend a few days sharing the Garifuna experience. This visitor guide focuses on three main categories presented in different colored numbered info boxes:
- Cultural sights, artists and artisans - what to see
- Restaurants and local kitchens - where to eat
- Hotels, resorts and hostels - where to stay
Activities in the closer range of Dangriga are also included on the map.
